Though the summer has been hot, we are glad to announce that weather in Estonia has turned and rain has arrived. Together with rain we have already found some good dye mushrooms.
Last weekend there was Estonian Mycological Society´s Spring Camp in Otepää, where I also took part of. It was amazing weekend, where people walked around the woods which will be destination point for our symposium as well. I found last year´s Hapalopilus rutilans and other mushrooms and now we just have to hope for right weather for mushrooms to grow.
It is very pleasing that we have so many people registred and registration has been open just a little more that a month. Right now we have 9 foreign countries signed up via our homepage: Finland(3), Norway(8), Canada(2), England(4), Sweden(5), United States of America(2), Denmark(13), Scotland(4), Belgium(2). We invite all people who are still thinking about registrating to sign up via the homepage, because the number of rooms in Marguse Holiday Centre are limited.
In october 2012, on the way to Spain to Fungi and Fibre Symposium with Katrin, Liina and little Madli, no one knew where the next gathering will take place. Today, we invite all mushroom dyeing friends to Estonia to the 16th International Fungi and Fibre Symposium.
Yesterday, me, Mirjam and Katrin visited Otepää, Marguse Holiday Center, to plan the exact locations for workshops, check technical aspects and visualize how the exhibition is going to look like.
Snow is still covering the ground and lake is under the ice. So we did not get the chance to go and pick the mushrooms, but I already imagine in my mind the September, when all the mushroom colored works are coming out of workshops, symposium´s mushroom colored yarns are drying and people are coming from forest journey with baskets of mushrooms for dying.
